Today's pick

One of my favourite songs right now is "Under a Glass Moon" by Dream Theater. Being a guitar man myself, I absolutely can't stop listening to John Petrucci's incredibly fast style of playing, and at the same time exceptionally controlled and progressive. I think this is one of DT's finer songs, along with such masterpieces (at least I think so) as "The Glass Prison", "Constant Motion" and more famous songs by them like "Pull Me Under". Dream Theater is a great band and I would highly recommend listening to them if you haven't already.

Song of the Day

As my first official pick, I have decided to choose a song that is actually a cover of a classic; Five Finger Death Punch's rendition of "Bad Company", a song originally recorded by the band Bad Company in 1974. With a couple of minor lyric changes here and there (They changed the lyrics "I was born a six-gun in my hand" to "shotgun in my hands" to meet the growing demand for darker lyrics, and it matched well with the heavier twist that they put on the song.) I'd say they did quite well in changing the song to something that works with the band's metal persona.
